ZERMATT IS CAR-FREE

Zermatt has always been car-free. Access for private traffic is permitted as far as Täsch (five kilometers before Zermatt). The Täsch-Zermatt road is closed to public visitor traffic.

ARRIVAL BY CAR:

In Täsch we recommend the Matterhorn Terminal parking garage. It offers 2,100 covered parking spaces. Change to the shuttle train in Täsch. The shuttle trains run to Zermatt every 20 minutes. Alternatively, you can also order a cab service from the parking lot in front of the terminal.

The Matterhorn Terminal has a logistics center with ATM, shopping facilities, etc. The Täsch-Zermatt train journey takes around 12 minutes. The terminus is right in the heart of the Matterhorn village.

You can reach Chalet Graziella in less than 10 minutes on foot.

The walk to Winkelmatten to Haus Gloria takes about 25 minutes.

There are of course a large number of cabs available at Zermatt railroad station.

ARRIVAL BY TRAIN AND BUS:

By train from Basel, Bern or Zurich and Lucerne via Visp/Brig. As a rule, you either get on the regional train to Zermatt in Brig or in Visp.
